Job Description:

Are you creative, articulate, and take pride in your projects? Do you have experience producing print and digital communications and media? Are you talented at event planning and execution? If so, the City of Lynn Haven is looking for a Communications and Marketing Coordinator and you may be the perfect fit! From newsletters, flyers, written communication via social media and other platforms to video spots and digital production, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator helps spread the word that “The City of Lynn Haven is a Great and Fun Place to Live.” Come join our team and help us promote the best place to live in the area! .

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field, and two years of related experience. He or she should possess strong computer and internet skills, good public speaking and presentation skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Experience with online marketing campaigns, social media platforms, website design, and with graphic design/photo editing software packages a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a schedule of campaigns and appropriate themes, and creatively suggests new ideas.
  • Researches, writes, and distributes press releases, when appropriate.
  • Identifies and communicates with vendors, agencies and city departments in coordination with special programs.
  • Serves as liaison with local media and social platforms to advertise and communicate City of Lynn Haven activities, special events, and grand openings.
  • Creates flyers, perform general office duties, and acts as customer service ambassador for the city.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors for production of marketing, promotion and sales materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field preferred; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two years of professional experience in public relations, marketing and communications, preferred.
  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
  • Polished public speaking, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and foster relationship, networking, and contacts.
  • Strong spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Photo Shop.
  • Graphic design knowledge and experience.
  • Social media expertise and execution skills.
