We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated Marketing Communications Specialist who will work in The Arc Gateway Program for Adult Learning and Support (PALS). The PALS program is a unique, fast-paced program focused on career education and training that results in job placement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This position will build the program’s brand, increase awareness of the program and services, and celebrate the achievements of the amazing clients we serve. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing marketing strategies and innovative communications through print, video, web and social media efforts. The ideal candidate is someone who is obsessed with promoting the abilities and successes of our clients through visual stories that are compelling to a variety of audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage a comprehensive marketing plan.
  • Develop and track measurable outcomes for campaign strategies and innovative campaign marketing.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute strategic social media content that meets or exceeds goals.
  • Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, report on return on investment (ROI), and recommend/make adjustments as required.
  • Create and design high-quality and innovative marketing materials including presentations, brochures, advertisements, posters, charts/graphs, infographics, promotional items, and flyers.
  • Coordinate with agency personnel to ensure that all communications and marketing materials fit the brand personality and aesthetic and drive favorable awareness of the agency and its enterprises.
  • Assist PALS Coordinators in developing presentations and securing speaking opportunities in the community at civic groups, professional associations, etc.
  • Write, design and submit program stories, statistics, and other information needed to produce a monthly newsletter, and other needs, ensuring effective and timely communications.
  • Create and maintain a robust photography library for the program to include clients, staff, business partners, education partners, and events for use in agency promotions and news releases.
  • Coordinate with the agency webmaster to ensure content best represents the program and is updated regularly to increase user engagement and SEO.
  • Manage all program advertising (paid and/or donated) including content, design and placement.
  • Collaborate with PALS staff to develop marketing strategies and marketing communications materials/advertising to promote program and services to a variety of audiences.
  • Assist with planning activities and special events as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Graphic Design preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in marketing communications and graphic design with proven track record of success.
  • Proficient working knowledge of MailChimp and/or Constant Contact. Experience with website CMS (such as WordPress), HTML, and SEO.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, After Effects, Premiere) and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Expertise in print and digital design and knowledge in print production.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and to work independently/proactively.
  • Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups. Demonstrated consistency, accuracy, and follow-through.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Completion of HIPAA and Zero Tolerance trainings will be required upon hire. Good driving record, valid driver’s license, successful completion of Level 2 background check and drug screening required.

Beginning Salary: $17.50/hour (based on experience and available funding)
