GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the creation, development, coordination, production and maintenance of graphic materials for the Florida Lottery, while ensuring internal and external brand consistencies of lottery products are maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
- Design and prepare layouts, incorporating illustrations and photography for the development of effective marketing and sales graphics for use in the Florida Lottery information and promotion programs.
- Design and develop graphics that include the following: print collateral, corporate identity, product information guides, posters, logo designs, banners and interior graphics, promotional items, brochure and publications page layouts, internet and digital media content for all Lottery product brands.
- Maintain and protect the brand guidelines, brandmark identity and usage of the Lottery’s game products.
- Create mock-ups and drafts, scan photography and convert artwork into digital/electronic images.
- Create web graphics in collaboration with IT department.
- Provide samples of finished layouts to Graphics Manager and/or Deputy Secretary of Marketing, and other members of team for review and approval.
- Communicate daily with Graphics Manager and Graphics Team.
- Participate in creative strategy meetings to determine project specifications and to develop concepts, production and execution timelines.
- Participate in team meetings to explore, share design techniques and be proactive in innovative ways to convey the Lottery’s mission and the value of its services.
- Write and prepare bid specifications for printing requisitions.
- Inspect proofs for accuracy while adhering to production standards to ensure a quality product and/or services.
- Attendance is an essential function of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced level skills in Adobe Creative Suite design software and also MS Office software.
- Skilled in the operation of Mac computer.
- Skilled in the operation of Mac computer.
- Knowledge of the print production process, design principles, color theory applications and graphic art standards.
- Skilled in typography and visual composition and their effectiveness in selling a consumer product in a variety of retail environments.
- Ability to anticipate, trouble-shoot and problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to quickly conceptualize and design via pencil sketches for quick review.
- Knowledge of and basic experience in web design and motion graphics.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to take direction and accept feedback.
- Ability to work independently and to multitask.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.

Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required).
The completion of high school, or the equivalent, resulting in the awarding of a high school diploma or the equivalent, such as the General Education Development (commonly referred to as a GED) award.
