Responsibilities

Writes and edits content for use in the College’s marketing and communications channels that reach internal faculty, staff, and student audiences; external members of the FSU community; prospective students, faculty, and staff members; legislators; industry partners; and members of the general public. Prepares visual assets to accompany copy. Content includes original news and feature articles, press releases, social media content, marketing content, information graphics, HTML emails and newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, calendar listings, and more to promote student, faculty, and staff achievements, college programs, initiatives, and news.

Posts content to College website and social media channels as directed. Responsible for tagging, SEO writing, and basic data analytics. Reviews departmental web and social media pages for articles to promote story ideas for use and publication on the College’s channels. Aggregates and supplies monthly social media and web analytics reports.

Provides technical and design support for the College’s internal and external marketing materials including emails, newsletters, advertising, websites, and more. Designs and deploys HTML emails and newsletters to College audiences, and pulls analytics for process refinement.

Physically attends events to generate coverage and demonstrate engagement. Photographs and videos events, students, faculty, and alumni for use in College publications. Edits photos and videos as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience. Note: Higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
  • Experience writing and editing content for marketing and communications.
  • Ability to write and develop visual content and tailor it for use across digital platforms such as websites, social media, crowdfunding, and email.
  • Knowledge of industry standards in media and communications.
  • Knowledge of visual communications strategies.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative suite.
  • Experience shooting and editing photos and videos.
