Summary/Objective
The Radio Broadcaster is responsible for conducting play-by-play announcement of all Blue Wahoos games, contributing to Blue Wahoos media relations efforts, and serving as a prominent team representative in the community.
Essential Functions
1. Conduct play-by-play for all Blue Wahoos home and road games with a focus on promoting team initiatives, ballpark experience, and ticket sales
2. Serve as a team representative at events in the community and through digital marketing efforts
3. Complete daily media relations tasks including game notes
4. Contribute to Blue Wahoos social media during road games following team social media policies
5. Write post-game recaps and update BlueWahoos.com following road games
6. Set up and maintain all Blue Wahoos broadcast equipment at home and on the road
7. Ensure all sponsored elements are executed during broadcasts
8. Facilitate and manage online streaming
9. Other related duties as required
. Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Excellent communication skills, with ability to engage various constituents
2. Strong knowledge of professional baseball
3. Ability to provide analysis and information throughout broadcast
4. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekend, and holidays
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and two or more years’ experience as a play-by-play broadcaster for college or professional sports is preferred.
Position Type
This is a contracted position.
