Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience creating designs and graphics for print and social application.
- 6 months of experience creating, editing, designing and building video projects for social and digital application.
Preferences:
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After-Effects, etc.
Special Notes:
- Work experience and college/university courses will be measured equally on a month-for-month basis for the required experience.
- Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported in your employment history.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates brochures, publications, graphics, ads, flyers, signage, displays, webpages, videos, social media posts, communication campaigns and other effective methods.
Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates innovative and effective ways to convey information through print and digital displays, and audio/video methods. Coordinate projects in collaboratively with internal and external customers, personnel, agencies or vendors to ensure project success.
Designs and develops compelling pieces using written and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video, animation and audio to communicate and educate the department’s constituents.
Assists with the development of multiple marketing and educational support materials (marketing collateral, landing pages, email blasts, direct mail, ad layouts, special event invitations, social graphics, etc.)
Supports the Office of External Affairs and the department in planning, executing and managing the organization’s social media strategy to include posting to, maintaining and monitoring social media platforms, and designing and producing graphics and video intended to increase brand awareness, cultivate relationships and drive traffic to the department’s digital platforms.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of personal computers and related software (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel; Outlook, Publisher, Access).
- Proficient in design and photo- and video-editing and/or publishing software (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After-Effects, etc.).
- Knowledge of graphic and video design techniques.
- Knowledge of current social media trends, platforms, and applications and appropriate sizes/ratios for social creative.
- Ability to produce conceptual designs, reports, and research and to maintain records.
- Knowledge of 508 standards and compliance.
- Familiarity with 4-color, spot and digital printing principles and prepress requirements.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate and complete multiple work assignments.
- Ability to work individually or in a team setting.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
