OPS Social Media Assistant
(Paid Internship)

HIRING SALARY: $15.00 per hour
HOURS: 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday
LOCATION: TCC Main Campus
The TCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation, which seeks private supplemental funds to add distinction to educational programs, scholarships, and facilities at TCC by increasing the opportunity for students to define and reach their educational and career goals. The TCC Foundation is governed by a board of community leaders who provide stewardship over all funds raised by TCC Foundation. The Foundation is a forward-thinking, fast paced department within TCC.
This intern will work to increase our social media presence and gain visibility for our brand among current students/faculty and staff, community members, and alumni of TCC.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS: This position will be responsible for working independently on assigned tasks, and will report to the Vice President.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Help maintain our digital presence and outreach, to include sourcing content, managing updates and developing ideas for additional growth
- Write daily social media posts and regularly update photo and video content
- Assist in the development and adherence to a social media calendar
- Monitor social media presence to ensure uniform content and tone
- Monitor social media activity to include tracking and reporting of analytics
- Monitor social media, especially LinkedIn, to identify TCC alumni and their activities
- Review and update of website regularly to include online event postings
MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Experience designing and working with social media is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites, especially Facebook & LinkedIn. Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills. Strong attention to detail and interest in detail-oriented work. Exceptional critical thinking skills. Positive attitude, openness, willingness to learn and work collaboratively with others. Completed or working toward a degree in Marketing, Business or Communications. Web design and editing skills.
