Responsibilities
Setup, Lighting, and Strike: Set up and break down scenery, risers, tables, chairs, cables, and equipment for studio productions and remote events. Setup and operate studio and field lighting systems. Hang and move light fixtures in studio-ceiling pipe grid. Ability to lift 40 lbs.. Climb and work from heights on a tall ladder or scissor lift. Reach overhead. Bend and pickup items and cables from floor.
Camera/Teleprompter: Setup and operate studio, ENG/field, and robotic camera systems. Operate teleprompter system to control the speed of the scrolling script to follow talent’s pace.
Audio Engineer: Setup and operate mixers, microphones, mic stands, public address speakers, and IFB/intercom systems.
Technical Director: Setup and operate video switchers, video and IP routers, and signal converters and adapters.
Graphics: Operate a Chyron Mosaic character generator. Type or copy text into our Microsoft Excel graphics database. Experience in Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator is a plus.
Record/Edit/Post-Production: Operate studio tape servers and remote tape decks. Use Adobe Premiere and Media Encoder to trim, convert, and conform video and audio to PBS broadcast standards. Distribute content to our Broadcast Operations Center and digital platforms. Archive finished programs on our Optical Disc Archive system.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency.
Candidates should have a passion for TV/Broadcast/Digital Media Production and should take initiative to learn and provide excellent support to WFSU staff and clients.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in various environments and conditions.

Schedule
This is a part-time position as-needed position, with varying hours to include nights and weekends.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
